Can you believe I spent a whole weekend without turning my computer on? It has to be a record. We were out a lot with our grandson but I don’t usually go so long – unless I’m on holiday. Therefore there were an unbelievably long list of emails which I’ve just finished reading and answering. And there are still other things I need to do before I can start work.

What’s the longest length of time you’ve spent without your computer – or i-pad – or whatever other piece of technology you use?

So much for my New Year resolution to blog three times a week. Where does the time go?
I seem to have been busy doing nothing. My daughter’s doing a family history so I’ve been delving into my memory (backed up by various records and phone calls) All time consuming stuff. I managed to finish a chapter but now the weekend looms and we have our eldest grandson coming to stay. We’re taking him to see War Horse at the cinema – not sure whether it’s my type of film but the men will enjoy it. In contrast we’re also going to see my friend’s granddaughter in an amateur production of Cinderella. I think I shall enjoy that much more.

The garden looks so dreary at this time of year that I can’t wait for all the spring bulbs to come into flower.  Some of them are beginning to push their way through the soil.  To cheer myself up I looked through some photos I took last year.  Here is one of them.

We have intense blue skies here this morning – with a temperature below zero! The frost on the trees is beautiful making me want to go out and drink in the beauty of it. Perhaps to take photo-graphs. But this is a working day for me so it’s sadly not possible. I’m dealing with a hero and heroine who are not co-operating. They need all my attention.

Monday mornings are always difficult but for some reason it’s even more so today. I’m deleting more and more. And I’m prevaricating by stopping to write this blog. Which I should have done first thing but wanted to get on with my writing. So perhaps when this is out of the way, when I’ve had yet another strong cup of coffee, the muse will take over.

Does anyone else have these Monday morning feelings?

Today’s photograph is another one of the Lake District. I just love the way the road winds through the countryside. Thank goodness it wasn’t me driving, and thank goodness my DH loves it.
