Heroines

On Saturday I saw a future heroine! The first time I’ve ever seen one in the flesh. We had gone to an outdoor function with my daughter and little grandson and this young woman came striding across in front of us. I say striding because she was tall, very tall, with long, long legs. And slender. Her hips swayed, her thick, dark hair swayed, and she was quite beautiful. But completely unaware of it.
Her image, however, has stayed with me. I can see myself using this image in the opening lines of a new book. It’s totally different from seeing photographs in a magazine, or on tv or the internet.
How about you – have you ever seen someone you thought would make a good heroine – or hero?
