Here are some of the photographs I promised of the Lake District.
Enjoy!  The top photo is of Lake Windermere.  The others were on our travels.

Lake District

We’ve just returned from a few days in the Lake District. What a fantastic place this is. The scenery is totally magnificent and I’ll never tire of visiting this area. I’ve taken lots of photographs but they’re not downloaded yet. I’ll try and do it by Friday and put one or two up for you to see.
The writing has taken a back seat so I really must knuckle down now and get on with it. My current hero and heroine must wonder what has happened to me. And I’m wondering whether they’ve carried on writing their story in my absence?

Autumn

I can’t believe it’s September already and the leaves are beginning to turn on the trees. Where has the year gone? On the other hand there’s some spectacular autumn colours appearing on the trees already. Which reminds me of my book AUTUMN DECEPTION.

This book was published in 1978 so it’s hard for me to remember what it was about – but here is the blurb:

The celebrated scientist Finch Halifax didn’t like publicity – but it was Jaine Brown’s job as a budding reporter to get an interview with him. As it happened, it was by sheer chance that she met him and found herself staying in his house – which should have given her just the opportunity she needed.

But instead she fell in love with him, so the last thing she wanted now was to take advantage of the situation. Unfortunately, though, Finch found out who she really was – and nothing Jaine could do would convince him that she hadn’t been deceiving him about everything – including her own feelings!

I wonder what would happen if I took this blurb and turned it into a brand new story?

Just a thought!

Nostalgia

Yesterday, the first day of September, we had glorious blue skies here in the UK and it felt like the middle of summer instead of the beginning of autumn. DH and I made a nostalgic trip. We returned to the park (or arboretum as it is grandly called) where we met fifty five years ago. It was a chance meeting of two boys and two girls. Fate I guess. Our friendship lasted, my friend’s didn’t. And I say friendship because that’s what we are – good friends, loving friends. Always have been always will be. We’re total opposites but that’s part of the fun.

I took a few photographs. Not of the spot where we met, though I suppose I should have done. But this is one of the nicest.
