Guess what I’ve been doing? Instead of writing? Watching tennis on TV! It’s Wimbledon fortnight and although I never usually watch anything but the highlights I’ve been avidly following it this year. I mean, those gorgeous men – great hero material some of them. So really I can put it down to research. Can’t I? And why is it I’m more attracted to the men than the ladies? Can anyone tell me?
Ups and downs
This has been one of those weeks when anything and everything gets in the way of work. Hospital tests on Monday (nothing serious) Hairdressers today. Dentist tomorrow. Ugh! When all I really wanted to do was write. Trying to write in fits and starts does not suit me. I like continuity. I could happily sit all day every day tapping away on my keyboard.
Does anyone else have weeks like this when they can’t wait for it to end and a new one to start? Looking at my diary there’s nothing on it for next week at all – so fingers crossed…
Foto Friday
We saw this wind pump when we were exploring the Norfolk Broads in May. It’s five storeys high and was fully working until it got struck by lightning in 1943. It has now been restored although it is not in use, but we climbed all the way to the top – the steep wooden steps were not for the faint-hearted and there were magnificent views. You can see how flat the landscape is here – but incredibly beautiful all the same.
The other photo is one of the views I took from the top.
Weather
What a weekend’s weather we’ve had. Saturday was sunny, Sunday it simply poured down with rain all day – and then, today, Monday, it has been sunny again. Good old British weather.
Do you remember me showing a photo of the top of Mount Snowdon in Wales some time ago? Well – on Friday they had snow! Inches of it. In the middle of our summer.
Last night I talked to my son in Florida and he was in baking heat. Life’s so unfair. Actually I don’t think I could stand their heat. It’s easier to throw on a woolly than find a way to cool down.
What sort of weather do you prefer?
