Help!

Does anyone know how to overcome a problem I have with Microsoft Office?

After I have used Find and Replace, whenever I try to scroll through my document for other reasons it keeps jumping pages using Find again. I can’t fathom out how to knock it off without actually turning my computer off and on again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wow I've never heard of this. Your find and replace has an attitude problem :). What version of Word is it?

    Some ideas:

Word occasionally chucks a tantrum at me if it deems my document to be too big. So if it's a big document and has a lot of pictures you may want to split it over several documents.

When you're finished with the find and replace box make sure you click cancel and deselect the current found word by clicking the cursor elsewhere on the page.

See if it does the same thing in other documents. If not, there may be a coding problem with that particular one so you may want to open a new document and copy and paste your work into the new one. If this doesn't work the first time try copying and pasting in several blocks like doing the first quarter of the document and so on.

It could be a virus so you may want to get your virus protection to scan it.

Googling the problem can sometimes help you but I haven't had a lot of luck this morning.

I hope your find and replace gets well soon.

Thanks for your input Lacey. It's definitely not a virus because it has always happened to me – before and since I had a virus and had my computer wiped clean.
It does it in every document – I'm sure it's something I'm not doing, but what?
I've clicked cancel and then de-high-lighted every found word – which is sometimes a lot in a long document. But then the next time I try to scroll from page to page up it comes again. Even in a different document. Weird or what?

I'm using Office 2007 but it used to happen with my older version as well.

It's not a major problem, just annoying.

It would drive me nuts too. In my travels I came across other problems and it had to do with the settings of the search and Find. I have office 2007 too and no problems so just in case you want to check your settings against mine:

Click on More>> at the bottom of the search and find box. None of the options have been selected and the first option box is set to 'All'. It's very strange that it's done it with both versions. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

Lacey, still no difference. When I've finished my current book I'll spend time on it because it is very annoying.
